It's official: Teddy Bridgewater will not play tonight against the Packers as a result of the ankle injury he suffered last week, in the first start of his NFL career.
The Vikings officially placed Bridgewater on the inactive list tonight, meaning Christian Ponder will get the start against the Packers. If Ponder goes down, the Vikings would have to turn to Chandler Harnish, who was just called up from the practice squad today.
Bridgewater is expected to be healthy enough to play again next week, so this may turn out to be the last start for Ponder, the former first-round pick who didn't pan out for the Vikings.
Minnesota's other inactives are linebacker Chad Greenway, tight end Kyle Rudolph, linebacker Brandon Watts, guard David Yankey, guard Austin Wentworth and defensive end Scott Crichton.
Green Bay's inactives are WR Jarrett Boykin, QB Scott Tolzien, CB Demetri Goodson, LB Carl Bradford, LB Sam Barrington, C Garth Gerhart and DL Josh Boyd.
