Perhaps Jay Cutler was tired of getting picked and sacked on Monday.
The New Orleans Saints had plenty of both - three and seven, respectively - against him in a 31-15 victory over the Chicago Bears, and Cutler went into his best two-minute drill after the game was over as he started answering questions from the assembled media, which totaled about five people.

Cutler: 'We've got to play better and take a look at the film and try to see exactly what slowed us down.'
Media member: 'Did the Saints do pretty much what they have done?'
Cutler: 'They had a good plan. They had a good plan. They mixed it up pretty well against us. They showed us a few new things. They knew what they were doing.'
Media member: 'What's kind of important to you now moving forward?'
Cutler: 'Uhh, just trying to get better for these two games and just going out and trying to give a good performance offensively.'
And that was it.
After that, Cutler just sort of sat there awkwardly (making that Cutler face - you know it) and waited for media relations manager Jim Christman to excuse him from duty. Typically, teams' media relations officials will announce in the locker room that the quarterback and head coach are heading to the podium to give media members the option of talking to them.
Christman informed Cutler that the local media had just been alerted that Cutler was at the podium and that they were 'on the way.'
Maybe the message wasn't relayed properly to the media. It's tough to know in the post-game chaos - especally in a losing locker room. But Cutler wasn't interested in waiting to find out who screwed up if that's what happened.
'We're going to wait for them?' Cutler asked, not appearing to actually expect an affirmative response.
Oh, of course not.
Christman asked the few folks left in the room if they had anything else to ask him - they did not, Cutler thanked them and was out. The local media arrived to find out that Cutler was all done for the night.

So there you have it: an epic exit after a terrible season. A fitting close to a miserable night that might have sealed the fate of the Bears' head coach.
