Simone passed away in her home, her father
Anthony E. Battle told MailOnline. Simone's death appears to be a suicide, law enforcement sources told . She was found hanging in a closet in her bedroom around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 5, the outlet reports. Simone's autopsy has not been completed, the L.A. County Coroner's Office told TMZ.
'She will be greatly missed and loved,' her father said. 'She was an exuberant person and a very loved person.'
Her father told the outlet that her death is still under investigation.

Following the news of her death, Simone's X Factor family mourned her death on Twitter. Simone's record company and management also issued a joint statement.
'Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing,' the statement read, according to MailOnline. 'Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.'

The Pussycat Dolls in front of the judges. She made it to the Top 32, and was mentored by Simon. She moved on to the Top 17, but was eliminated in the first week. After The X Factor, Simone joined the reboot of The Pussycat Dolls after the original members left. By 2013, they were going by a new name,
