LANDOVER, Md. - Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III left Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a left ankle injury and was later ruled out for the remainder of the game. His replacement, Kirk Cousins, threw a 20-yard touchdown pass two plays later.
Griffin was hurt on a play in which he scrambled toward the sideline and managed to complete a 19-yard pass to wide receiver DeSean Jackson to the Jaguars 20-yard line. Griffin landed awkwardly as he went out of bounds.
Two plays later, Cousins hit fullback Darrel Young with a 20-yard touchdown pass.
Griffin was carted off the field with his left leg in an air cast but gave the fans a thumbs-up sign.

Before the injury, Griffin completed two of three passes for 38 yards. He had a potentially long completion to Jackson wiped out when the ball slipped from Jackson's grasp after he hit the ground. The call stood on review.
Amid much discussion as to whether or not Griffin should return to the running ways of his rookie season in 2012, he also had run twice for 22 yards against Jacksonville. Both plays were zone-read options, his specialty his rookie year before he underwent ACL reconstruction surgery on his right knee.
Jackson, the big-play wide receiver signed by Washington as a free-agent from the Philadelphia Eagles, later left the game. The Redskins said he was being evaluated for a shoulder injury. His return was described as questionable.
