James Harrison is coming back to play for the Steelers.
Harrison, who announced his retirement from football early this month at the Steelers facility, will return to play 'one more year'' as he stated on social media this evening.
The Steelers placed outside linebacker Jarvis Jones on the injured reserve/recall list today, which means he will miss at least eight weeks before he can return to play. To take his place on the 53-man roster, the Steelers plan to re-sign Harrison today, sources told the Post-Gazette.
Harrison, 36, played 10 years with the Steelers before signing as a free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013 after he declined to take the pay cut the Steelers wanted him to take to return.
The Bengals released him this year and he announced his 'retirement' the first week of September at the team's facility on the South Side.
He will return today to that same facility, to prepare to play against the Tampa Bay Bucs Sunday at Heinz Field, and the surprising start of his 12th NFL season. Join the conversation:
