Robert Griffin III, DeSean Jackson, A.J. Green and Knowshon Moreno were all forced out of their Week 2 matchups and now it is time to add another name to the list: Jamaal Charles.
#Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles has an MRI set in the morning on his sprained ankle, source says. That'll tell how severe it is.

It's a huge blow to the Chiefs, who started the season with a loss against Tennessee in the season opener. Charles averaged five yards per carry on his way to 1,287 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns last year, plus added another 693 yards and seven touchdowns on 70 receptions. The only running back rated higher by Pro Football Focus was LeSean McCoy.
The bulk of the carries, for the time being, belong to Knile Davis, who ran for 242 yards on 70 attempts last season. On Sunday, he ran the ball 22 times for 79 yards and two touchdowns. And while Davis doesn't give the Chiefs the same explosiveness Charles does, he is close in terms of yards after contact per rush.
'He brings a different style to our offense,' quarterback Alex Smith said. ' He's a physical back, a big back who can really run. You have a little bit of a pounding effect on the defense and gives the guys up front that mentality that you can pound it with Knile. I thought he did a good job in protection and in the pass game as well.'
Davis hasn't allowed any pressure on Smith so far this season (41 passing plays) and on Sunday against Denver, caught six of nine targets for 26 yards.
'I'm very comfortable,' said Davis. ' When I go in, I know my job has been all week to pay attention to what Jamaal does. I've been doing good film study, watching him and what he does, so if unfortunately he went down, I would be able to step in and help out.'
