The Padres drafted Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel with the 837th overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft on Saturday.

Manziel, a former Heisman Trophy winner at Texas A&M played high school baseball, but the only baseball he has played in the last three years has been throwing out ceremonial first pitches at Major League games.
In fact, Manziel threw out a pitch at a Padres game last season. Apparently they were impressed with what they saw.
