You're going to hear every announcer on the planet talk about guys grinding over the next four days but if you want to see who's really grinding, it's me, doing 12-hour marathon live blogging sessions.
I've been preparing all season for this, though. Making my wife wake me at odd hours, typing for six hours straight, pulling GIFs with my kids on the stopwatch. It's all coming to a head.
Let's get to the golf!
9:01 AM: Live golf on TV, I'm giddy.
8:49 AM: Ugh, Justin Rose is such a hack. Even thru three and he's trailing the amateur in his group by two and the dude who can't win a US Open by one.
8:37 AM: I just flipped my USGA leaderboard page to show 'amateurs only' -- these buffoons playing golf for money just don't interest me. For Bobby Jones!
8:34 AM: What time does the Big Cat tee off? He's going to be down to some large names whenever he does.
8:28 AM: I do like this leaderboard so far.
8:11 AM: Phil Mickelson birdies No. 10, his first hole, if he does that 71 more times I'm guessing he's going to win the tournament.
7:34 AM: Okay, I'm off to Starbucks to order a 12-hour-live-blog-sized coffee. I will return shortly. Likely to some Sergio tears or Phil in trouble.
7:30 AM: A couple of stats to keep in mind for the first round...
