'Godzilla' himself may only be visible for a split second in the first full-length trailer for the eagerly awaited monster movie, but the daikaiju sure leaves a gargantuan impression.
Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers unveiled a 2 1/2-minute look at director Gareth Edwards ' 21st Century update of the classic Japanese movie monster.
Judging by the panic in star Bryan Cranston's voice, 'Godzilla' is opting for a much more serious and horror-infused take than the notorious 1998 version that had critics on a rampage.
'The arrogance of man is thinking Nature is in our control, and not the other way around,' warns Ken Watanabe in his role as a Japanese official, summing up the carnage that lays ahead in the movie that opens May 16.

Though plot details are being kept largely secret, there is a quick shot of a badly damaged Statue of Liberty from the New York, New York hotel in Las Vegas, hinting to at least one of the stops on Godzilla's walking tour.
'Godzilla' also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen.
